All bluetooth headset mic is not working with Window 11

mic is not working for all bluetooth headset. The bluetooth show connected with both sound and mic, but there are none of Window program can access the mic function. FYI, before the Window Updates, everything is fine.

Same Issue here, i have 20 users that the update broke their bluetooh headset, tried with the intel driver, different headsets, the manual KB5067036 install is not allowed either

I am having the same issue on my work laptop and it is making it incredibly difficult to attend and participate in company meetings. I have tried all the things others in this thread have tried and nothing has worked. Updating my system and drivers have not helped either. Rolling back updates is not an option for my work computer. When will Microsoft fix this?

My devices- Asus vivobook S15 OLED and Realme wireless 5 ANC{Neckband}

I had this same issue, where all Bluetooth earphones (neckband with mic) started showing just "connected audio" and no mic after updating windows 11 on my laptop in December. I did everything suggested to solve this problem but nothing worked. I have intel EVO Laptop

SOLUTION: First remove all saved Bluetooth devices from your PC. Then open device manager, go to "Audio inputs and outputs" dropdown section and remove all Bluetooth devices. then restart your device. These steps finally SOLVED MY PROBLEM.

In my case, it started showing "connected mic, audio" under my Bluetooth audio device name whichever I paired with my PC and in all others (Bluetooth earphones too) too. Mic also started working too as I did a zoom call after this process.

I have the same issue, and I'm pretty sure KB5066835 is to blame, as prior to this I had no problems at all. I can hear audio just fine from YouTube or similar, but no bluetooth headset microphone will work and Teams is refusing to pipe any sound at all to Bluetooth headsets or use the microphone. I have tried re-pairing, the trouble shooters (although Windows 11 claims that I don't even have half the troubleshooters and at one point claimed I don't have a bluetooth radio which is patent nonsense). Windows 11 is amateur hour writ large; the worst OS I've had the misfortune to use (and that includes Windows ME and 8). This the same with:

Bose QC 35 II

Having to use a tethered headset without noise cancelling is not just inconvenient, it's utterly absurd. Bluetooth is not a new technology, but apparently Satya's push to replace humans with shit AI is now bearing fruit in the number of crappy, broken updates being shipped to users who have no choice but to stick with your dreadful OS because of work. Not that he'll care what with his fat paycheque, bonuses and shares of course.

Same thing here: on 3 different sets of Bluetooth headsets: only the headphones or only the microphone can be enabled at any one time. This behavior started immediately after the Windows 11 25H2 update was installed.
- If the headphones are set as the output, the microphone is produces no input and just clicks once when you try to engage it, oftentimes crashing whatever software is trying to use it.
- If the microphone is enabled first, then it will work, but the headphones will not and won't output any sound.
- Everything works as long as you set the input and output devices to be different.
The machine is a Lenovo X1C G13 with the Intel BE201 Bluetooth chipset and the latest Intel 23.160.0.9 driver as of 10/29/2025 (driver build date is 7/20/2025). The headsets I've tried were 3 different models and generations of Bose wireless headphones and earbuds.

Solutions attempted:
- Rebooting
- Removing the Intel Bluetooth device, reinstalling device and driver
- Rolling back Bluetooth driver to 4/2025
- Upgrading driver to the newly-released 23.170.0.3
- Removing and Re-adding headsets
Update: the solution ended up being updating to the 26200.7019 (or 26100.7019 for 24H2) preview build of Windows by installing KB5067036 manually, along with updating the Intel BE202/BE201/BE200 driver to version 23.170.0.3 and rebooting.

I can second that the solution at the end of this post works - I had the same exact problem after a recent update, and my headset works again after installing the Intel driver update and the 26200.7019 preview build through Windows Update.

After installing yesterday's Windows update (November 11, 2025—KB5068861 (OS Builds 26200.7171 and 26100.7171)) the issue is solved for us.

I have the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6, and I am experiencing the same Bluetooth headset issue. The problem didn't start until I updated to Windows 11 Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200 (October CU update); I suspect KB5066835 is the culprit.

Issue Description: Bluetooth headsets connect successfully and work for media playback (videos, music, system sounds). However, when applications attempt to use the headset in communication mode (with microphone), both audio output and microphone input fail completely.

Impact: This affects all communication applications including Zoom, Teams, 3CX, and others. The headset appears connected in Windows settings, but apps cannot utilize it for two-way communication.

System Details:
- Device: ThinkPad T14s Gen 6
- OS: Windows 11 Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200
- Suspected Update: KB5066835
- Symptom onset: Immediately after October CU update
This is a critical issue that effectively removes the ability to use Bluetooth headsets for calls and meetings on affected systems. This needs to be addressed urgently.

Interesting - I also have a Thinkpad (P16s Gen 3) and I'm sure at least one other person mentioned having a Lenovo. That may just be coincidence but I wonder if Lenovos are a common thread? I updated the bluetooth driver to the version released yesterday (although when I pair my pixel buds the driver version displayed is NOT the version of the driver I installed at all). The only way I have got things working is to uninstall the KB, and even then it stopped working again at some point, and I have had to uninstall it again since thanks to corporate update policies.

I ran into the same issue — after the recent Windows 11 update, none of my Bluetooth headsets’ microphones worked anymore. The Bluetooth connection showed “connected with voice and music,” but no Windows apps could actually access the mic. Everything had been fine before the update.

What fixed it for me was updating the Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver to the latest version:

Driver version: 23.170.0 Release notes: This version supports the latest Microsoft Windows 11 25H2.

After installing the update and rebooting, my Bluetooth headset mic started working normally again. If you’re having the same issue, I highly recommend giving this driver update a try.

This has indeed fixed things, and can confirm that it is installed on top of KB5066835. Brilliantly, it was released only yesterday (28th October) a full 2 weeks after the Windows update - I had checked the bluetooth driver was up to date after the Windows update but didn't clock the release date of the last version. Drives me insane that breaking changes get pushed out and drivers then lag behind. EDIT: Still not working - I forgot I had switched the microphone to use the one built into my webcam. Microphone is still not working in teams or slack or in windows settings. Absolute farce.

I also tried this with my Lenovo laptop. Installed 23.170.0.3 - and still the microphone for bluetooth headsets does not work. I tried with multiple bluetooth headsets and they all exhibit the same behavior. This is very annoying as video conferencing is an essential tool for work and I have wasted hours on this.

Eventually fixed this and got my headset working by just downgrading to 2024H2 per the instructions here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1J1aBuxH4Y This also took quite some time. Cumulatively - I wasted about 8 hours on this just to get back to where I was. Microsoft - please check that bluetooth audio headsets work BEFORE releasing your windows updates. For many people - myself included - working headsets are a critical requirement. This is much more important than whatever feature updates you put in this update which broke bluetooth headsets

Exactly the same with multiple Bluetooth devices (including WH-1000XM5) just in 2026 at Windows 11 24H2 26100.7781 (which fixed the issues described above), BT driver is latest 24.20.0.3.

All seems correct but no application including MS TEAMS/Sound recorder can actually record anything.

All good with my mobile android device so its not general headset issue but Windows driver problem.
