SURFACE PRO 7 EXTREMEMLY SLOW PERFORMANCE UNRESOLVED? TILL NOW? TRY THIS IT JUST MIGHT BE THE ONLY WAY!
Has anyone discovered the real fix for Surface Pro 7's extremely slow performance. Over 4 months I have tried many of the remedies recommended on multiple forms to settings and other procedures to check, change, correct and overcome the issue that came with a windows 11 upgrade. Many of those who submit remedies they had tried admitted later that they did not work or only made a temporary difference and the problem has persisted.
I spent a significant amount to get a Microsoft Product with confidence that it would be the very best to work in concert with Microsoft and it's products i.e. Windows and 365 products in 2020 it came with windows 10 and worked beautifully, then upgraded to windows 11 with out any issues as it qualified for the upgrade. Then in 2025 a windows 11 upgrade seems to have messed up the system and it immediately ran at an extremely very slow clock speed and many apps would not work or would take hours to perform any function.
Working with my computer specialist, we tried everything imaginable and no success what so ever. So I gave the Surface Pro 7 to him to tear apart and enjoy the breakdown of it for interest sake. As I handed it to him, I said, the only thing we have not tried is to install windows 10 back on and then reinstall the upgrade to windows 11.
He gave it a try! He wiped the computer and performed a new install of windows 10, and the problems of the slow performance went away. He then upgraded to the windows 11 and the performance restoration held and is working perfectly as new and it's been a couple of months now and I feel confident to suggest this fix. I have since recovered the Surface Pro 7 from him (bought it back) and I am so happy that this method worked permanently.
I hope that if you cannot find the fix, this method may (and I think will) resolve the issue.
