How to unhide a meeting link on the Meet page

I clicked to hide a Meeting Link. Now I can't find the Meeting anywhere on Teams (desktop program) to unhide it. The meeting does not show up in the Chat history in my desktop Teams. I have the link saved in emails and am still able to launch the meeting. And the Meeting Link appears on my Teams iOS app. Is there any way to have the Meeting Link unhidden on my desktop Teams?

I understand how confusing it is when a meeting link "disappears" from your desktop view after being hidden, especially when you can still see it perfectly fine on your mobile device. I know you need that link accessible on your main computer for your workflow, so let's get it back into your visible list.

To clarify the behavior: When you select "Hide" in Teams, the chat is not deleted, but it is filtered out of your active Chat list until a new message is posted or you manually retrieve it. It essentially goes dormant to declutter your view.

Here are two methods to unhide it on your Desktop app:

Method 1: Search and Unhide

Since the history still exists, you can force it to reappear using the search bar.

In the Search bar at the very top of Teams Desktop, type the exact name of the meeting or the name of a participant in that meeting.
When the meeting chat appears in the search results, click on it to open the chat thread.
Now, look at the Chat list on the left rail. The meeting should appear there temporarily (selected).
Right-click on the meeting name in the list (or click the three dots ...) and select Unhide. This will pin it back to your persistent list.

Method 2: The "Bump" Trick

Since you mentioned the meeting is still visible on your iOS app, you can use this to force the desktop app to recognize it again.

Open the meeting chat on your Teams iOS app.
Type a short message in the chat (even just a simple "Test" or a period ".") and send it.
Because there is now "new activity," the meeting thread will immediately jump to the top of your Chat list on the Desktop app.
You can then right-click it on the Desktop and ensure it is Pinned so you don't lose it again.

I followed method 1, but "unhide" is not an option (see screenshot).

Based on what I am seeing in your image, the reason the "Unhide" option is missing is actually quite simple: that specific meeting chat is currently Pinned.

In Microsoft Teams logic, a chat cannot be both "Hidden" and "Pinned" at the same time. Because this chat is marked as Pinned, Teams has automatically removed it from your standard chronological "Recent" list and moved it to a special reserved section at the very top of your Chat panel.

Here is where you can find it:

Go to your Chat tab.

Scroll to the very top of the list (above where it says "Recent").

Look for a small header called Pinned.

If you see a small arrow or chevron (>) next to the word "Pinned," click it to expand the list. Your missing meeting should be sitting right there.

If you prefer the chat to flow back into your normal timeline, you can simply right-click the meeting name in that list and select Unpin.

If you still cannot locate it in the Pinned section:I recommend proceeding to Method 2 (the "Bump" trick). Ask a colleague who was also in that meeting to type a new message (even just "testing") in that chat. This will force the chat to jump to the very top of your "Recent" feed immediately.

Thank you very much for explaining the "pinned" status of the chat. That was very helpful! However, it still does not solve my original problem finding the "meeting link" in the meeting tab. I clicked "hide" and have never been able to "unhide" the meeting link. I cannot locate the meeting link. The chat does allow me to join the meeting. But is there no way to "unhide" the meeting link?

Regarding your original issue: once a meeting entry is "Hidden" from the main list, there isn't always a direct "Unhide" button unless a new message is posted in that chat.

However, even if the link is hidden in your view, the Calendar entry remains the permanent source. You can retrieve the link directly from there

Click on the Calendar icon on the left sidebar of Teams.

Navigate to the specific day and time where the meeting is scheduled.

Click once on the meeting block to open the details pop-up.

You will see a "Copy link" icon (it looks like two chain links) right there.

Alternatively: Click the Expand (double-arrow) icon to open the full invite. Inside the description, you will see the text "Click here to join the meeting." You can right-click this text to copy the link.

Is this a recurring meeting?

Since you mentioned you can still access the meeting via the chat history, if this is a recurring series (weekly/monthly), please note that the link is permanent.

Tip: You can copy the link once using the Calendar method above, and then save it as a browser bookmark or a sticky note. You can use that exact same link to join every future session of the series, eliminating the need to search for the "unhide" option each time.

I am able to access the recurring meeting (via chat and by accessing the link I emailed to myself). It just seems like such a tedious process versus having the meeting link available right up launching of Teams.

One would think there'd be a way to simply "unhide" a meeting link. Clicking "hide" implies a temporary "hide". It should be relabeled as "delete" instead of "hide" since the link can never be recovered/"unhidden".
