Hi everyone,
IE Mode has suddenly stopped working in Microsoft Edge across multiple Windows 10/11 devices.
We are getting this issue below.
"To open this page in IE mode, reinstall Microsoft Edge with admin privileges"
This is impacting legacy applications that rely on Trident/IE11 rendering.
Any help would be greatly appreciated — this is currently blocking access to several critical legacy systems.

i am encountering this issue too. it was listed as installed in the add features menu in settings. i removed and told windows to install it, but windows won't install it. it keeps saying 'couldn't add'. i did test adding and removing and readding soe of the other optional features, such as windows HELLO face, and IRDA support, and everything EXCEPT internet explorer mode would install. I want to get one of the FOD media iso's for 25H2 so i try to get the feature back, but i guess those are not publicly distributed. the file payloads on WU that 25H2 uses for FOD installs appears to be missing, even though the stubs for the FOD are present in the image. I have done two repair installs, just two make sure it wasnt something with my system, and nothing changed. the first repair install, i used the latest (as of 6/8/26) 25H2 iso without dynamic updates, the second repair install i did, WITH dynamic updates enabled. afterwards, the internet explorer mode FOD was still in the list in settings, but windows is unable to install it because it unable to retrieve the files online.
