To use the remaining Skype balance before it expires, two things are required:

    1. Make sure the Skype Credit is active
      • Skype Credit becomes inactive after 180 days of no use. If it is inactive, it must be reactivated before it can be used.
      • Go to the Skype Credit reactivation page: Sign in to your account.
      • Select Reactivate Credit.
      • It can take up to 15 minutes; an email is sent when reactivation is complete.
    2. Use the Skype Dial Pad to spend the balance
      • After May 5th, the Skype Dial Pad is only visible if there is an active paid subscription or active Skype Credit.
      • Sign in to the Skype web dialer: Skype Dial Pad (via the calling web portal referenced in the context).
      • Ensure the correct Skype/Microsoft account is used (the same one mentioned in the email about expiring credit). If signed in with the wrong account, the dial pad may not appear and a message like “You don't have any paid product right now” can show.
      • Once signed in with the correct account and active credit, use the dial pad to place a call to a phone number; this will consume the remaining balance.

If the dial pad still does not appear after reactivating credit and confirming the correct account, sign in to My Account at My Account to verify that Skype Credit is listed and active. If not visible or still unusable, contact Skype/Microsoft support via the Skype help pages for further assistance.

Note: Skype is retired in May 2025. Existing paid users can still use the Skype Dial Pad from the Skype web portal and within Microsoft Teams Free as long as there is active credit or a subscription. If not planning to move to Teams, consider exporting Skype data as described in the retirement documentation.
