In Teams Personal account (aka. Teams Free), background effects can only be changed when on a video call.

    User's image

When on a call, click on the camera icon and select the desired background effect. This setting will also be applied to the subsequent calls, until changed.

In Microsoft Teams, the background is controlled by Teams, not by the onn 4K webcam. Change it from within Teams while your camera is on.

To change the background before joining a meeting (desktop):

    1. Go to Calendar in Teams and select Join for the meeting.
    2. On the pre-join screen, turn your Camera on.
    3. Select Effects and avatars (or Background filters in some views).
    4. Choose:
      • Blur to hide what is behind, or
      • A built‑in picture/virtual background, or
      • + Add new (if enabled by the organization) to upload a .JPG, .PNG, or .BMP file.
    5. Select Join now to enter the meeting with that background.

To change the background during a meeting (desktop):

    1. In the meeting, open the meeting controls bar.
    2. Select More actions (three dots).
    3. Select Apply background effects.
    4. Pick Blur or a specific background image, or one that was uploaded.
    5. Select Preview if desired, then Apply and turn on video.

    On mobile (Teams app):

    1. Before joining: tap Background effects on the pre‑join screen, choose the blurred or image background, tap Done, then Join.
    2. During a meeting: tap More actionsBackground effects, choose the effect, then Done.

These steps work regardless of the webcam model, as long as Teams can use the camera.
