Bug Report: Add/Edit/Save Actions Failing in Microsoft Edge Browser

I am using on MAC OS

Multiple websites are experiencing functional issues in Microsoft Edge where critical user actions such as Add, Edit, and Save fail to work correctly. The same workflows operate successfully in Google Chrome without any issues.

This behavior is causing significant usability problems and forcing users to switch browsers to complete normal tasks.

When using Microsoft Edge, actions involving data creation, modification, or saving frequently fail across different websites. The failure occurs even though the applications themselves are functioning correctly.

The issue is misleading because Edge displays failure/error messages during these operations, making it appear as though the website or backend service is failing. However, performing the exact same actions on the same websites using Google Chrome succeeds without errors.

This indicates a browser specific issue related to Microsoft Edge compatibility, frontend execution, request handling, caching/session behavior, or JavaScript processing.

Since the issue is reproducible across different websites while working normally in Chrome, this strongly suggests the problem is isolated to Microsoft Edge browser behavior rather than individual website functionality.

The issue is becoming increasingly frustrating because normal application usage in Edge is unreliable, making Chrome the only dependable workaround currently available.

    Hi Jitendra Kalyanapu,

Thanks for sharing the detailed description, I can understand how frustrating this situation is, especially when core actions like Add, Edit, and Save behave inconsistently in Microsoft Edge on macOS.

At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the AI generated answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario.

Since the issue is reproducible across multiple websites and only occurs in Edge, it would be helpful to narrow this down a bit. To better understand this case, could you help check a few things below?

    • When you mention Add / Edit / Save actions, could you please share a screenshot or short screen recording that you’re referring to?
    • Which Edge channel and version are you currently using (Stable, Beta, Dev), and does the behavior persist after updating to the latest version?
    • Does the same issue occur when testing in an InPrivate window or with all Edge extensions temporarily disabled?
    • Does this happen across different Edge profiles, or only within a specific one?

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.

Based on the available information, focus on Edge-specific issues and general troubleshooting on macOS:

    1. Check for known Edge issues on macOS
      • Microsoft Edge on macOS has had some high‑impact bugs in recent versions (for example, CPU saturation and other stability issues in version 144.0.3719.82). Ensure the current Edge version is not one of the affected builds and that it includes the latest fixes.
      • On macOS, go to Settings and more (… ) → Settings → About Microsoft Edge and confirm that Edge updates to the latest Stable build. Many functional issues are resolved in newer releases.
    2. Verify Edge is working correctly in general
      • If Edge is crashing, freezing, or failing to load pages, follow the standard troubleshooting steps:
        1. Close other tabs, extensions, and apps to free memory.
        2. Disable or remove unnecessary extensions that might interfere with page scripts or requests.
        3. Restart Edge and retry the same Add/Edit/Save operations.
        4. Restart the Mac and test again.
    3. Clear Edge cache and site data
      • Corrupted cache or cookies can cause request failures or incorrect session behavior that only appears in one browser.
      • Clear browsing data (cache and cookies) for the affected sites, then sign in again and re‑test the Add/Edit/Save flows.
    4. Compare behavior with known Edge compatibility guidance
      • Many major web applications officially support Microsoft Edge as a modern Chromium‑based browser. Since the same workflows work in Chrome, the expectation is that they should also work in Edge unless:
        • Edge is on an outdated or buggy build.
        • Edge has specific policies, flags, or extensions enabled that alter request handling, caching, or JavaScript execution.
      • After updating Edge and disabling extensions, re‑test to isolate whether the issue is environmental (profile, extensions, or settings) rather than a general Edge incompatibility.
    5. If the issue persists
      • If the latest Edge Stable build on macOS still fails while Chrome works, collect:
        • Exact Edge version (from About Microsoft Edge).
        • Whether the issue reproduces in an InPrivate window with all extensions disabled.
        • Any visible error messages or HTTP error codes.
      • Use this information to open a support case or feedback report so the Edge team can investigate a potential macOS‑specific regression.
