Azure Artifact Signing Identity Validation Failed

I grew up on Windows, but today, I feel extreme embarrassment on behalf of everyone at Microsoft every time I use your products. I had to use Windows recently and briefly considered MAID. But Azure is probably better, I said.

Today I decided to port my electron app to Windows, using Azure Trusted Signing to sign .exe's in my Github actions workflow. I am trying to verify the identity of my business. I've wasted a few hours now, as the Microsoft identity app keeps crashing, and apparently only a 3rd party identity provider works. Now, when I try and create an identity, I give my LLC name, EIN for the TIN, and other required information, it sends me to a link (I had to sign in again), which shows me a QR code that I scan on my phone. It takes me to the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app, verifies my face. The desktop screen says Identity Verified! Great! We're set. Except we're not, because 1-2 hours later the identity verification status goes from PENDING to FAILED, without any explanation as to why.

So, I paid $29 to get on the developer plan so I could create a support ticket. There, the support ticket wizard's AI COPILOT SEARCH linked me to a forum post about an Apple user that couldn't sign in to icloud. I click next, and couldn't create a ticket, but it did direct me here to post on a public forum. I paid $29 to ask this question.

+1, this process is an absolute nightmare. Thumbs down, Microsoft.
