A video editing tool developed by Microsoft, designed to make video creation easy and accessible for everyone.
The extreme startup delays, lag, and black screens in the new Clipchamp update happen because the app has transitioned into a cloud-dependent web wrapper. At startup, it aggressively loads tracking scripts, promotional templates, and OneDrive connection checks before it even lets you see your local workspace. To speed things up, reset the application's broken state by going to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Clipchamp > Advanced Options and clicking Reset to wipe out corrupted update cache. To fix the blindingly washed-out dark mode and bypass the sluggish Windows Store interface altogether, try opening your browser, logging into app.clipchamp.com, and installing it directly from the address bar as a Progressive Web App (PWA); this version handles hardware acceleration much better, runs noticeably faster, and lets you work without the clunky desktop app background lag.
