the tabs on my computer are inverted, but when i make a new tab, its not inverted. i tried checking the settings, but it doesn't say its inverted.

Thanks for reaching out. I understand how confusing it is when some tabs appear inverted while new tabs look normal.

This may be caused by a browser setting or an extension affecting how certain webpages are rendered.

In addition to those steps above, please check your extensions by opening edge://extensions/, then temporarily turn them all off. After that, refresh the affected page. If the colors return to normal, you can re‑enable the extensions one by one to identify which one is causing the issue (commonly dark mode or color‑filter extensions).

Next, please check Edge’s experimental settings by typing edge://flags/ then search for Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents in the address bar. If “Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents” is enabled, set it to Disabled and restart Edge to apply the change.

It would also help to let me know whether this happens on multiple websites or only a specific one, as that can help confirm whether it’s a site-specific rendering issue.

Since the issue is still happening, the next step I’d suggest is to check whether it’s related to your Edge profile or browser configuration.

You can try creating a new Edge profile by going to Settings > Profiles > Add profile, then open the affected websites in that new profile without installing any extensions. If the colors appear normal there, it would indicate that the issue is likely tied to your original profile settings.

In addition, you can reset Edge settings to their default by going to Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their default values. This won’t remove your favorites, but it will reset things like startup settings, search engine, and pinned tabs, which can sometimes help resolve unusual display behavior.

Please let me know how it looks after trying a new profile or reset, and we’ll continue from there.

The inverted colors are most likely coming from a Windows accessibility setting, not from Microsoft Edge itself. New tabs look normal because Edge is following its own theme, while Windows is inverting the colors of existing content.

Turn off color inversion in Windows 11:

Press Windows logo key + U to open Accessibility settings.
Select Color filters.
If Color filters is turned on, turn it Off. If it must stay on, make sure Inverted is not selected.

If the issue persists, check Magnifier inversion:

Press Windows logo key + U to open Accessibility.
Select Magnifier.
Turn Turn on Magnifier Off, or under Appearance make sure Invert colors is not selected.
- Keyboard shortcut to toggle Magnifier color inversion: Ctrl + Alt + I.

After these changes, all Edge tabs (existing and new) should display with normal, non‑inverted colors.
