Setting up future meetings with participants using Teams calendar or Outlook integration

As I have reviewed, you are able to open the window to schedule a Teams meeting, fill in the details and recipients, but when you press send nothing happens. You mentioned that this occurs both in the desktop app and the web version, and that you are using Yahoo Mail with Office 365 on Windows 11 Home. You also noted that “Meet Now” works fine, but scheduled meetings do not send.
From what you described, the behavior usually relates to how Teams connects with a calendar service. Although you are able to open the Teams scheduling window and enter meeting details, the meeting cannot be sent because your account is using Yahoo Mail, which is not supported for Teams calendar integration.
- When you add a Yahoo account to Outlook, it only enables email access (send/receive).
- Yahoo accounts use IMAP/POP, which do not provide a full calendar service that Teams can use.
- Microsoft Teams requires an Exchange-based mailbox (Outlook / Microsoft 365) to create and send meeting invitations.
Because of this, when you click “Send”, Teams has no connected calendar system to process and deliver the meeting invite so nothing happens.
As I have prefered similar cases, I suggest that you can do following steps and choose which is suitable for your case:
1 / Manually add Teams link (quick workaround)
Since Meet Now works, you can do this:
- Click Meet Now
- Copy the meeting link
- Create calendar invite in Yahoo
- Paste link into invitation
2/ Use Outlook/Microsoft 365 account (recommended)
To fully enable Teams scheduling:
- Create or use an existing Outlook.com / Microsoft 365 account
- Sign into Teams with that account
- Use Outlook Calendar or Teams calendar
After that, you can:
- “Send” button will work normally
- Invitations will go out automatically
- Calendar sync works
