Identity validation for Artifact Signing can legitimately take from 1 to 20 business days, and possibly longer if additional documentation is required. The status remains In Progress while the Microsoft validation team reviews the information and any supporting documents.
If the status is still In Progress after several weeks and no Action Required emails have been received, direct assistance from Microsoft support is required. Community channels cannot access or act on specific identity validation IDs or invoices.
Use one of these support paths:
- Open an Azure Support request for Artifact Signing
- Go to the Azure portal.
- Open Help + support.
- Create a new support request and select the Artifact Signing resource.
- Provide the identity validation ID and invoice number and state that the validation has been In Progress for more than 20 business days and the service is already being billed.
- Use Microsoft Q&A with the artifact-signing tag
- If unable to open a support ticket, post on Microsoft Q&A with the artifact-signing tag, including that identity validation has exceeded the documented processing window and that billing has started.
If the identity validation ultimately fails and cannot be completed (for example, after documentation attempts are exhausted), the guidance is to delete the Artifact Signing account so that billing does not continue for an unusable resource.
