Hi Microsoft,

I am encountering an issue when trying to launch a game (MotoGP 26) on my PC. Whenever the game attempts to start via Easy Anti-Cheat, it crashes and displays the following pop-up error:

motogp26-Win64-Shipping.exe - Application Error

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

My System Specifications:

Device: Acer Nitro 5

Processor: Intel Core i5

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

RAM: 32GB

  • Operating System: Windows 11

Troubleshooting Steps I Have Already Tried:

I have cleanly reinstalled my NVIDIA graphics drivers.

I reinstalled the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer using the official link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

I downloaded and installed the Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One package from TechPowerUp: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/

Despite following these steps, the error still persists as shown in the attached screenshot ("Screenshot 2026-05-26 183806.jpg").

Could anyone advise me on what else I might be missing or how to properly resolve this 0xc000007b error? Any advanced guidance or specific fixes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!Screenshot 2026-05-26 183806

Great news. I'm glad moving the dsound.dll file helped. The file can be deleted.

If all is resolved, feel free to mark the answer for this thread. Otherwise, please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

    Hi,

The program motogp26-Win64-Shipping.exe tried to load an incompatible DLL and encountered that error.

Please open the folder that contains the above executable. Maximize the window and post a screenshot.

Also, let me know if this issue occurred after manually copying some DLLs to the app folder, System32, or SysWOW64.

Based on the available information, the most relevant additional steps are to focus on the Microsoft runtimes and on Windows itself rather than third‑party “all‑in‑one” packs.

    Try these actions in order:

    1. Make sure Windows is fully updated
      • Install all pending Windows Updates, including optional quality and .NET updates.
      • Restart the PC and try launching the game again.
      • This is important because some game/runtime issues (including Easy Anti‑Cheat–related ones) are resolved by OS updates.
    2. Install the official Visual C++ redistributables individually
      • Prefer the official Microsoft redistributable installers over third‑party bundles.
      • Download and install the current supported Visual C++ Redistributable packages (x64 and, if the game requires it, x86) directly from Microsoft, then reboot and test again.
      • If an installer fails, follow the general troubleshooting guidance:
        • Temporarily disable antivirus/endpoint protection.
        • Right‑click the VC Redist installer and select Run as administrator.
        • If it still fails, check Windows Update again, reboot, and retry.
    3. Reinstall or repair DirectX components
      • You already ran the DirectX End‑User Runtime Web Installer. If the game still fails, run the installer again as administrator and complete it without interruption, then reboot.
      • If Direct3D/DirectDraw options are missing or the game still fails to initialize graphics, update the GPU driver again from the GPU vendor and ensure Windows Update is fully applied.
    4. Ensure no other installation is blocking runtime setup
      • Error 0xc000007b can appear if a required runtime failed to install because another installation was in progress.
      • Before installing or repairing Visual C++ or DirectX, make sure no other setup is running in the background, then retry the installs as above.
    5. If the problem started after upgrading or changing Windows builds
      • Install any follow‑up cumulative updates for the current Windows 11 build, as some gaming and Easy Anti‑Cheat issues are fixed in later updates.

If, after these steps, the game still shows 0xc000007b, collect any new error messages from the Visual C++ or DirectX installers and provide them to the game’s support or Easy Anti‑Cheat support, as they can indicate which exact runtime or DLL is failing.
