Reviewing Azure Environment Costs – Are All These Resources Typically Required for a Single VM Deployment?

I'm reviewing an Azure environment and trying to determine whether all of the currently billed services are necessary for our setup, or if there are opportunities to simplify and reduce costs. We rarely use the system it is for audit reasons only.
The monthly charges currently include:
- Virtual Machine (D2ads v6, West US 2)
- Premium SSD Managed Disk (P10)
- Standard HDD Managed Disk Snapshots (ZRS)
- Azure Backup (Standard)
- Azure VM Backup
- Azure Bastion (Standard)
- Standard IPv4 Public IP Address
- Inter-Region Bandwidth Charges (North America)
My questions are:
- For a typical production VM deployment, which of these services would you consider essential versus optional?
- Is Azure Bastion generally worth keeping if administrators connect infrequently, or are there lower-cost alternatives?
- Are both Azure Backup and VM Backup expected, or could this indicate overlapping backup configurations?
- What are the most common causes of Inter-Region Bandwidth charges, and how can I determine whether they're actually required?
- Are there any obvious cost-optimization opportunities for the services listed above?
I'm looking to confirm that each component serves a purpose before making any changes.
Thanks in advance for any guidance or recommendations.
