Request to Restore Collections and Right sidebar in Microsoft Edge

Dear Microsoft Edge Team,

I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the recent removal of the Collections feature and the right sidebar in Edge. These options were among the most useful and practical tools that kept me loyal to Edge over other browsers.

Collections allowed me to organize and save websites efficiently, and the sidebar provided quick access to features that streamlined my workflow. Removing them has significantly impacted my productivity and user experience. It feels terrible to lose such valuable options without a proper alternative.

I strongly urge you to reconsider this decision and bring back Collections and the right sidebar. If these features do not return, I will have no choice but to move to another browser that supports the functionality I need.

Please take this feedback seriously, as I believe many users share the same frustration.

If you have received the 149 update to Edge, the Collections functionality was deprecated in that version, you should still be able to access your collections in Bing on this link:  https://bing.com/saves

Many people are asking that they bring back the Collections and Side-Bar apps functionality, this forum is just a user to user forum, the best option is to open Edge, then press Alt + Shift + i to open the Feedback Panel in Edge and provide your feedback to the Edge developers there, that is where they will see your feedback and may reconsider the removal of the functionality in Edge if enough people request that.

Collections is being retired from Microsoft Edge and is no longer available for adding new items. Existing users see a banner and can either export their saved content or move all pages to Favorites to keep their data.

The sidebar in Microsoft Edge is still a managed feature and can be allowed or blocked by administrators via policy. Organizations can:

    1. Control whether the sidebar is available at all using the HubsSidebarEnabled policy (Show Hubs Sidebar).
    2. Control whether sites/apps can be opened in the sidebar using EdgeOpenInSidebarEnabled.
    3. Allow users to customize the sidebar (add/remove apps) using EdgeSidebarCustomizeEnabled.
    4. Block specific sidebar apps (older method, now deprecated) using ExtensionInstallBlockList, or block the entire sidebar by disabling HubsSidebarEnabled.

If the sidebar has disappeared in a managed (work/school) environment, it is likely disabled by policy and would need to be re-enabled by the organization’s administrator using these policies.

For Collections, the current path provided is to export existing Collections or move them to Favorites; there is no supported way in the provided documentation to restore the retired feature once the retirement process has started.

Feedback about these changes can be submitted directly from Edge via Settings and more > Help and feedback > Send feedback so it reaches the product team.
