Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.
It depends on what you mean by a "clean wipe."
- If you want to remove all personal files, apps, and settings while keeping Windows installed, use Settings > System > Recovery > Reset PC > Remove everything. This reinstalls Windows and removes your data.
- If you are selling, recycling, or giving away the PC, choose Change settings and enable Clean data to make recovery of deleted files more difficult.
- If you want a completely fresh installation of Windows, you can perform a clean install using Windows installation media, which erases the existing Windows installation and data.
Are you keeping the PC for yourself, or are you preparing it for sale or transfer to someone else? Can you still sign in to Windows normally?
