Welcome Briay Conditt,
I understand how frustrating it can be when you are unable to sign in to your Windows 11 PC and receive the message “You can't sign in with this account. Try a different account,” even after multiple recovery attempts.
Before proceeding, I’d like to clarify a couple of points:
- Is the account you are using a Microsoft account (email-based) or a local account?
- Are you able to sign in to the same account from another device without issues?
In the meantime, you can try these workaround steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
Option 1: Use local account via Safe Mode
- From the sign-in screen, holding Shift > Power > Restart
- After restart, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart
- Press 4 for Safe Mode
- Try signing in or create a new local admin account via Command Prompt
Option 2: Create a new local administrator account (offline)
- In WinRE, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt
- Run:
-
net user tempadmin P@ssw0rd /add `` -
net localgroup administrators tempadmin /add - Restart and log in using this new account
-
Option 3: Check system integrity
- From Command Prompt in WinRE run:
sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=C:\Windows
I hope the steps above help you deal with your issue.
