I purchased Word and Excel when I purchased my laptop but last week, I started getting messages when I would open a spreadsheet that it needs to be repaired. Then I noticed that the Excel had "Unlicensed Product" on the screen. What happened? Was there an update that caused this?

    Hi,

Are you subscribed to a Microsoft 365 subscription, or do you have a one-time Office purchase such as Microsoft Office 2024?

Are you signed in to the same Microsoft account in your Office apps that you used to purchase the license?

Please open Excel and go to File > Account.

Check whether you are signed in to the correct Microsoft account.

    Then go to:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services

Can you confirm whether your license or subscription appears there and is listed as active?

If everything matches and the license is active:

    1. Open any Office app (Word, Excel, etc.).
    2. Click File > Account.
    3. Scroll down and select Sign out.
    4. Restart your computer.
    5. Sign back in using the correct Microsoft account.
