You are on the Microsoft Q&A page. Here is exactly what to write:

In the "Title" box write:

BitLocker recovery keys not found after Windows reinstall - 3 drives locked

In the "Details" box copy and paste this:

Hello,

I am seeking urgent help regarding BitLocker locking all my data drives after a Windows reinstall.

Device Details:

  • Device Name: DESKTOP-PEUD893
  • Serial Number: ZJ064153H
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro Build 19045.6456
  • Manufacturer: Dynabook Inc.

What Happened: On 31st May 2026 I reinstalled Windows 10 on my C: drive only. After reinstall my D:, E: and F: drives are all locked by BitLocker and asking for recovery keys. The keys in my Microsoft account do not match any of the locked drives.

Locked Drive Key IDs:

  • D: drive — 54B8DDEB-027F-40FE-B3A6-99C7658EE2A3
  • E: drive — E6B0BD39-D8B8-4680-A235-502D13BD7D75
  • F: drive — 219CFF43-20EC-4B0E-9730-F670EBEFDC2E

Accounts I Have Checked:

None of these accounts have matching recovery keys.

What I Have Already Tried:

  • Entered available recovery key — rejected on all drives
  • Searched all drives for .BEK files — not found
  • Checked all Microsoft accounts — no matching keys
  • Searched all emails — nothing found

Is there any way to recover these keys or access these drives? Any help is greatly appreciated. You are on the Microsoft Q&A page. Here is exactly what to write:

    Hello

BitLocker recovery keys cannot be regenerated or retrieved by Microsoft if they are not available in your Microsoft account, Entra ID, or an external backup (USB/file/printout).

Since none of the listed recovery IDs match any stored keys, the most likely causes are:

    • The keys are stored under a different Microsoft account

Or they were never backed up

    What you can still do:

Check all possible accounts here: https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey

Check any Entra ID / work or school tenant

Look for USB backups, printouts, or password managers

If none of these contain the keys, the data on the encrypted drives is unfortunately not recoverable due to BitLocker design. BitLocker recovery keys cannot be regenerated or retrieved by Microsoft if they are not available in your Microsoft account, Entra ID, or an external backup (USB/file/printout).
