Adding an android phone to my Microsoft 365 account.

I have been trying to add my android phone to my microsoft account, I have tried to do this by scanning the QR code, which has been unsuccessful, I then chose the option to link without using a QR code, I get so far going through the steps until my phone shows the prompt 'enter the code shown on your PC', where is this code?, I checked my emails and texts to find it but I can't.

Please advise where the code can be found, I have had no issue with the verification codes that Microsoft send as part of the process but this last code, I just have'nt got a clue.

    The procedure is not to add the phone to the Microsoft account, but the Microsoft account to the phone.
    Are you trying to link the phone using Phone Link?
