How did you initially install Office? A product as old as Office 2013 will often require that you have both installation media, such as a DVD, and a product key.

On the other hand, if you associated Office 2013 with a Microsoft account, you should be able to install from https://account.microsoft.com/services .

If you need a replacement, consider Office Home & Business 2024 which is a one-time payment license for one computer (PC or Mac) and one user.

Alternatively, try one of the open source alternatives, such as LibreOffice, which creates word processing, spreadsheet and presentation files that are fairly compatible with their Microsoft Office counterparts.

can you provide a link to "“Download and install or reinstall Office 2019, Office 2016, or Office 2013”?

To reinstall Office Home & Student 2013 using an existing product key, use the same Microsoft account and download channel originally associated with the license.

    1. If Office 2013 was redeemed/linked to a Microsoft account:
      1. On the reloaded PC, open a browser and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used when Office 2013 was first installed.
      2. Go to the Services & subscriptions page (for consumer Office) and locate the Office 2013 Home & Student license.
      3. Select the Install option to download the Office installer.
      4. Run the downloaded installer and follow the prompts to complete installation.
      5. When prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account to activate. If asked for a key, enter the existing Office 2013 product key.
    2. If Office 2013 was originally installed as a one-time purchase (not via Microsoft 365 subscription) and needs to be reinstalled:
      1. If any newer Office version (such as Office 2016) is installed, uninstall it first using the steps in “Uninstall Office 2016 from your PC.”
      2. Then reinstall Office 2013 using the “Download and install or reinstall Office 2019, Office 2016, or Office 2013” process. This flow allows entering the existing product key and downloading the correct installer.

Note: Office 2013 is no longer available as part of a Microsoft 365 subscription, but a previously purchased perpetual Office Home & Student 2013 license can still be reinstalled using the associated Microsoft account and product key.
